PARK HOUSE
Berry's Garden Services have the great pleasure of maintaining the grounds of this stunning home. Romantic Manor House. Formal tranquil pond encased in yew hedging. Meadow with meandering pathways. Herbaceous borders, shady border, tropical border and more. Productive kitchen garden with a greenhouse and potting shed for drying flowers. Privately owned but open to the public through the National Garden Scheme and through private viewings. |
WINTER WORK
Garden maintenance doesn’t stop in the winter! Flowers like sedums look glorious dusted in frost, showing that sometimes leaving spent flowers can have ornamental and architectural value, long after their colour is spent. Snow needs to be removed from the borders to prevent snow damage to plants. We make sure your plants are protected and frost free. |
LAWN CARE LEGENDS
AWARD We are very proud to have one of our lawn cuts come 3rd in a national lawn care photo competition. |
WINDERMERE WAR MEMORIAL
We have the pleasure of being responsible of the upkeep of this lovely garden. Every year we are part of both Windermere and Cumbria in Bloom and have received certificates in recognition to contributions to the community every year since. The first job upon taking on this contract was to open up the garden and make it more inviting to the many visitors and locals. Thanks to hard work and the great support of the Council we have achieved this and now receive many more visitors than we did in the past. |
BEDS AND BORDERS
Beautiful beds and borders are the ultimate demonstration of gardening skills. A masterpiece of shapes, colours and textures. Reaching climax in the summer months, but adding to all gardens throughout the year. Whether it's an informal cottage mix of herbaceous perennials and flowering shrubs, a meadow of grasses or a tropical border, it needs regular weeding, seasonal tidying, mulching, dividing and re-stocking. We provide the complete border maintenance service, from design, through planting to on-going maintenance. |
CREATIVE PRUNING AND TOPIARY
Creating interest with Creative pruning can give new life to tired old shrubs and trees. Whether its just lifting the base of trees to let in more light, or cloud pruning or creating view points through solid hedges, with a series of deliberate cuts we can turn that tired hedge or a shrub into a feature to frame your outdoor space. |
HEDGE PRUNING
We provide professional hedge pruning services tailored to your requirements, whether you need regular hedge trimming or an annual prune. Pruning and cutting back will usually take place during autumn/winter months depending on variety and species. We are very serious about protecting wildlife in our customers' gardens and do NOT prune between March and August as this is the main breeding season for nesting birds and other wildlife. |
WILDFLOWER MEADOW
A wildflower meadow is a beautiful addition to your garden and it doesn't need to take up a lot of space. An annual meadow will give you a one-off display in summer, while a perennial meadow will provide colour from year to year. We can create the meadow look in your garden regardless of the size. Creating a meadow from seed is the most cost-effective method, however, if the area you want to cover is small, a pre-grown wildflower mat is a good option. Wildflower plug plants can also be popped straight into an existing lawn to help with the weeds and give it the meadow look. |
LAWN CARE
We offer so much more than simply grass cutting. We are passionate about providing the full maintenance package including lawn care, feeding, aeration, new seeds sowing, edging and strimming. Not only do we provide a friendly and quality service, all of our staff are highly experienced and use the best, professional equipment. No two lawns are the same – the condition, size and shape, the position and degree of slopes all vary. Therefore, our lawn cutting and care services are tailored to your needs. |
POTS AND BASKETS
Containers filled with plants can brighten up a corner of a garden, provide handy herbs right outside your kitchen or welcome guests flanking a doorway. Why not to add a touch of vibrant colour to your outdoor living space, or perhaps even just your front door, with hanging baskets and pots. We can fill your containers with some of your favourite flowers or pick some of the quick and easy pre-planted arrangements for you. |
SOFT LANDSCAPING
Fruit Cage There's nothing better than the taste of your own fruits and vegetables. Planting and watching them blossom into delicious strawberries, raspberries or carrots is extremely rewarding. But all too often the produce you've been nurturing is ravaged by garden pests and animals before you even get the chance to enjoy it. We can build fruit cages of any size to protect your crops and veggie beds to make sure you get to enjoy them. |
PONDS
Ponds are a lovely addition to any garden and can provide a rich habitat for a range of wildlife. However, without care, ponds can soon become an eyesore with overgrown plants, weeds and water that is unhealthy for fish and other wildlife. Occasional cleaning and regular maintenance are required. We can help with choosing and planting new plants as well as maintaining your established pond. |
CUT FLOWERS
Many beautiful plants can be enjoyed as cut flowers and foliage. Bringing your own flowers home offers cheaper and more diverse alternatives to shop-bought flowers. Borders can be adapted to provide cutting material throughout the year, however if you have enough space, you can also dedicate a part of the garden to growing just cut flowers. The advantage of having a cutting garden over picking from the main borders is that you don't deplete your main plants and also provide a more productive area for cut flowers. |
EDIBLES
Fancy growing your own food at home? – it's not as hard as you think! First things first, you don't need to have a big and lush garden to grow all sorts of tasty delights. A small space will work just fine for things like herbs, lettuce and cress, and you can grow smaller veggies and fruits like tomatoes in plant pots. If you're lucky enough to have a garden with some soil and space for digging, why not transform it into your own veggie patch or fruit orchard! We can help with that too. |
PROPAGATION
One of the real wonders of gardening is actually ‘creating’ (propagating) your own plants. Growing plants from seeds is not only cheap and fast, but you can also have more choice. The feeling of pride when you see the big, healthy, beautiful plants that you have grown from seeds or a baby seedling is incomparable. Even without a greenhouse you can propagate some of the plants yourself. We are happy to advise and start you off as well as help you look after your little ones. |
